LJ: I lock the shit outta all of my online haunts. I've taken a long and messy path the past oh, say, ten years or so, and I play my cards (online) pretty close to the vest. Aidan's biological father has bred a whole host of stalkers: his mother, his girlfriend, etc., so I'm insanely protective of the privacy of my children. I have rarely have the kids as a default pic on any site, and they are never in my icons here.
I'm all for multiple online presences, though. In a way, I think that's the safest way to play. My fbook has about a tenth of the info my lj does. I need to know who has inside access to my life at all times. I'm sure that sounds a bit paranoid, but that's just how I roll.
Sorry about the suckage, lovely. I'm seriously ready for this winter to be OVER. Whatever it is, I hope it all resolves quickly and easily for you.
